Cap off your Coron Trip by Seeing the Sunset from Mount Tapyas!

Mt. Tapyas sits 210 meters above the town of Coron, Palawan. If you want to exercise and be rewarded with a beautiful view, then it is a must for you to hike here. There are only a few hundred steps waiting for you so challenge yourself today!

There is a 360-degree platform on the top of Tapyas, a tall iron cross, and the big letters of Coron overlooking the town. Tapyas is a local word meaning ‘chipped’ or ‘cut’. Near this hill is the Maquinit Hot Spring, another tourist-loved location near Coron itself.

The stair hike consists of 721 steps in total. You may have spent the past few days just basking in the beaches and water of Palawan, so try to have a slow afternoon in Coron and see the sunset from Mt. Tapyas. Start hiking an hour before the sunset to get the full experience of seeing the sunset go down.
